I really thought that nothing this solid was going to come out of the hip hop realm, but I was wrong. Another grounded Philadelphia rap group has been making waves is now catching ears with their highly anticipated new single. Chiddy Bang “Mind Your Manners” is a great feel-good record for the summer. Here is a more mixable version so it can be dropped in a club near you.

These Dudes Rule

After hits like “ONE”, Miami To Ibiza” and “Leave The Word Behind” I have to say I was a little disappointed in this new single. I feel like it did not have that punch that all these other songs had from the jump,but all the house heads still love it. Now this smashmode remix, it fills in the vocals with explosive claps and great build ups but the dutch sounding beat bridges have to go… and that is what I did. Hope this gives your big rooms the energy it needed from this song.

“Honesty: Sure everyone likes an honest person, but sometimes being honest may be a bit much. This week at the club some off-beat girl runs up to the booth and yells to me: ” I just did a ton of coke and I’m sick of this Top 40 crap!, I need some dirty hard hitting house music!” She also started to talk about the recent nose bleed she had in the bathroom, but my mind was just stuck on the “I just did a ton of coke part.” Just imagine if she started a job interview like that, or used it as an “ice-breaker” at speed-dating.  She could of said, “I’m really messed up right now” or something semi-intelligent, but I guess she wanted to be honest. Sometimes, honesty is not the best policy.”

So this track has been killing me for a minute on my XM radio. It sits in the serato but never gets played as much and I know why. Most of the house/electro dance stuff I play is hard hitting, plus I like stuff that hits hard. This whole song is pretty light till the middle and finishes pretty strong. So when cue points are not enough you have to make a cut-down that works. Enjoy

The New Boyz n Beatstreet

This past week has been nuts! A lot of running around, the overrated holiday with BBQs to attend, and opening up the New Boyz concert at Six Flags. Seriously, if you did not get to attended the show, you missed out. These guys work hard and put on a solid show. To get a thousand or so people to all clap at once or sing the hooks to the songs is a great feeling and soo much positive energy.
